Rich’s Reflections:  Today’s Gospel talks about how Judas collaborated with the chief priests in a plot to betray Jesus.  At the minimum, Judas was motivated by financial gain.  In exchange for Judas’ cooperation with the enemies of Christ, he was to receive 30 pieces of silver.  After Jesus was apprehended, the guilt of his traitorous act tormented him to the point of committing suicide.  Much like Judas who took the 30 pieces of silver as he handed over the innocent Jesus, the abortion industry is also motivated by financial gain by the taking of innocent life.  However, it is not the abortion industry who is tormented by guilt, but the mothers who are often coerced into having the abortion in the first place, betraying their unborn child.  Judas was tormented by his guilt; however, he did not believe in God’s forgiveness.  Pray that post-abortive women will come to know and believe in the forgiveness that Jesus can provide.
