“And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.” ~ Matthew 16:18 (full readings)

Rosemary’s Reflections: As Fourth of July approaches, I begin to wonder what our forefathers would think about the state of our country: the enormous amount of debt, the threat to religious freedom, and how it seems life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is only available to select few. There is a reason why life was placed before the other two–it is the beginning; without it, how can one experience the rest? This country was based on Christian values, a foundation built by the original Church. If we are to be a strong nation, we cannot toss aside what we were built upon. The Catholic Church is always under attack to change its beliefs to be considered “up with the times.” The Church’s foundation is rock solid, which is why it has stood for over 2000 years. While its wall may have been shaken, it has not fallen like the countless empires it has seen. Let us pray the United States is not another one.

Through Christ Our Lord,

* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion (images) is #1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
