04 Feb Abide in Him (Deut 4:9) by Karen Patnaude
“Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.” ~ Deut 4:9 (full readings)
.
Karen’s Reflections: God has a beautiful plan for each and every one of us. It is only when we are seeking after Him that we can truly draw near to Him. We are to abide in Christ and Christ in us, and it is only when we start to slip away that the world can sneak in and disrupt all that God desires to do. It is important to spend quiet time with God each day, to give Him your full attention so He can prepare you for whatever may be headed your way. I know that when I feel like my day is somehow off kilter it is always reflecting a lack of time with God. As we serve in the Pro-Life ministry we can expect the enemy to attack us and that makes it all the more important to draw near to God. God promises blessings to those who follow after Him, but He also warns us to stick close to His truth. The world is full of lies and it is easy to fall prey to them if we are not listening and seeking the will of God diligently. It is important for us to teach our children early so that they will be equipped with the tools of how to seek after God and to know His voice. Our lives need to be intertwined with God, not just on the surface but in every aspect. If we are to abide in Him and Him in us we must surrender completely to His purpose and plan and remove ourselves from anything in the world that would pull us away. People who are blinded to the truth about abortion do not know Gods voice and it is our job to shower them with the loving truth that He offers for all of mankind. We must not grow weary in doing what God has called us to do. Abortion destroys generations, but God can restore all things!
