“Immediately things like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight.”  ~
Acts 9:18 (full readings)

Kevin’s Reflections: Sometimes it takes a dramatic, traumatic event to get us to see things in a new light, and to start doing things right.  That is a lesson Saul (later St. Paul) learned so very well on his road to Damascus.  The recent, horrific event on the road to the Boston finish line has provided us with the sight of countless spontaneous acts of courage and compassion from runners and spectators who sought to save the lives of strangers and to comfort the afflicted.  It should inspire us to value life deeply in every possible way.  Every precious child or adult who lost life or limb started life in a mother’s womb.  Let’s pray to God today, that scales will fall from all of our eyes and we will fully cherish and value every moment of every life from the moment of conception.
