19 Jan All Life Matters (Acts 10:35) by Anna Dwinger
“But in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him.” ~ Acts 10:35 (full readings)
Anna’s Reflections: Two civilians and a police officer were killed when a gunman opened fire at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic in November 2015. During a news report the man was shown saying he did it for the babies. Unfortunately this type of horrific act is often associated with Christian Pro-Lifers. It is important to acknowledge to our critics that this is also abhorred by us. We do not condone this behavior, and we believe ALL LIFE is precious. After this news came out I posted on my Facebook page that all life is important, even the lives of the people inside the building of a Planned Parenthood. A few of my friends, who are not pro-life, thanked me for saying that. I responded by saying we are all sinners! Not one of us is better than the next person. I don’t hold the belief that one life is more important than another, they are equally important. Our critics want to make the world think we are only in support of the unborn child, and that simply is not the case. It is good to take every opportunity to make this known to our critics. Often they are also unsaved, and they need to know that THEY are as important to us, and to God, as any crusade we are on to save the lives of the unborn. I have found those that are often in support of abortion wish they were never born themselves. Which is tragic, but a door may be opened to reach them for Christ if we engage in these conversations in the most loving manner possible.
