Brandon’s Reflections:  Prior to this, St. Paul talks to the Ephesians about the importance of family relationships at the start of Chapter 6.  As we are nearing the end of the 40 Days for Life, it is important that we “Remember the Unborn” during not just these 40 days, but rather the entire year.  As many of you know, these 40 days are all about prayer and doing what we can to support the Pro-Life movement.  I run many 5K’s annually and always wear my LIFE Runners gear no matter if it is a serious run or a fun run.  At every race I do, someone always asks me about our mission.  Usually that small talk allows me the chance to live out this very reading.  Prayer is not always something that we take time to do, but it is something that we have to make time for.  Everybody also knows because of Odessa Permian and the book/TV show/movie “Friday Night Lights” that high school football reigns in Texas.  However, over the past decade due to Supreme Court rulings, prayers before the game have been replaced by a moment of silence.  One of my favorite things about covering football games for our local newspaper is on Friday nights joining the teams on the field for a post-game prayer and seeing how important everybody’s faith, though different, still comes together.

.Faith Challenge:  I teach Religious Education to 8th graders and every week I challenge them to come up with a way to incorporate prayer into their life.  Today, I challenge all LIFE Runners to take just a couple of minutes out of your schedule to pray in a situation that you would not usually do so.
