“You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relations and friends; and some of you will be put to death.  You will be hated universally on account of my name. but not a hair on your head will be lost.  Your perseverance will win your lives.” ~ Lk 21:16-19 (full readings)

Sara’s Reflections:  They mocked Him.  They spat on His precious face.  His friends rejected Him.  They ridiculed Him.  They beat and scourged His precious body.  They crowned His precious head with thorns.  They made Him carry His cross through the streets of Jerusalem, just to be tormented some more.  And then, they crucified Him.  You will be betrayed by family, friends, people at work, at your Church, at your school, people you know, or don’t even know.  They will laugh at you.  They will ignore you.  They will insult you.  They will reject you.  They will gossip and lie about you.  They will say mean things to you.  They will hate you for speaking and standing up for the Truth.  They will arrest you.  They will take you to court.  They may even kill you.  ARE YOU READY?  Or have you already experienced it?  Experienced what, you may ask?  Persecution.  As a Follower of Jesus, as a Child of God, as a Christian, as a Pro-lifer, and as a Life Runner; you will be Persecuted, if you haven’t already.  How will you handle it?  Will you give up because it is too hard?  Do want an easier life without all that suffering and pain?  Will you let the devil win, or will you be strong?  Jesus didn’t say we wouldn’t be persecuted and betrayed if we follow Him.  He promised we would.  Persecution is a gift from God, and we should embrace it.  We are joined by this gift together with Jesus on the Cross and His persecution and suffering, along with our Christian brothers and sisters in the world.  Look at how God has chosen us Life Runners and given us tools of Prayer, Endurance, Awareness, Charity, using them along with Perseverance to END ABORTION.  It is hard sometimes to be strong and not give up or give in to the devil and the “culture of death.”  We as God’s chosen Life Runners are equipped.  So I ask you again…ARE YOU READY?  Are you ready to die for Jesus and for saving the lives of innocent babies?  If not , get ready.  PRAYER, LOVE, and MERCY can overcome the greatest evil and the greatest persecution.  Remember even when you are persecuted to rejoice and be glad, your reward is in HEAVEN.

Faith Challenge:  Pray today, for our persecution and persecuted Christian brothers and sisters around the world and in our country.  That our suffering may be Glorified through Jesus’ suffering, and through it, we will be able to bring Love and Mercy to the “culture of death”.
