Bad for Business (Mk 5:13) by Dr. Rich Reich

“And he let them, and the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine.  The herd of about two thousand rushed Going_out_of_Business090203down a steep bank into the sea, where they were drowned.” ~ Mk 5:13 (full readings)

Rich’s Reflections:  In today’s Gospel, Jesus sent the unclean spirits from a possessed man into a herd of swine, and the two thousand swine rushed down a steep bank into the sea and drowned.  The swine-herders were upset that they had lost their livelihood and begged Jesus to leave their district.  Jesus was bad for business and the swine-herders believed that their personal profits were more important than the possessed man’s welfare.  Planned Parenthood believes that Pro-Lifers are bad for business, especially when we peacefully pray for the well-being of the mothers, families, and unborn children affected by abortion.  Like the swine-herders, they are more concerned about personal profits than the welfare of mothers and their children.  Continue to stay strong in your Pro-Life ministries and help others see that people are more important than profits.

Faith Quote:  “Greed is not defined by what something costs; it is measured by what it costs you.  If anything costs you your faith or your family, the price is too high.” ~ Max Lucado
