Amy’s Reflections:  In today’s first reading, Paul instructs the Ephesians to “Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.”  These words from Paul should be the mantra of all those involved in the Pro-life mission.  We so often hear abortion termed as the “war on women” or “murder”, which is true, however we must approach this subject with a loving and forgiving heart just as Jesus would have done.  It is so difficult to comprehend how a mother or father could even begin to think of taking the life of their unborn child.  This is a horrible tragedy that happens way too often in our modern society leading to frustration for us who support all human life.  We must not let our frustrations lead us to anger and hatred, which are the tools of Satan.  We must use our frustrations to become more firmly convicted in our quest to protect the unborn.  The use of negative words and accusatory comments will only build walls in communication.  We must speak in terms of hope and love when we confront the subject of abortion.  It is our job to educate those mothers and fathers tempted to abort their child by recognizing that they may not fully understand what they are about to do.  We must help them see that all life is “a reflection of your glory Lord.”  Likewise, we are called to give support and love to those post-abortive women and men who are suffering from the choice they have made.  Love and forgiveness are the only means of healing, and these are the tools of Christ.  Let us go forth armed with love, compassion and forgiveness to fight the battle.  Remember, “Together we are winning.”
