02 Oct Believe (Ps 27:13) by Pastor Steve Selfridge
“I believe I shall see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living.” ~ Ps 27:13 (full readings)
Pastor Steve’s Reflections: Belief is a huge thing. We have abilities to believe in many things. You believed your legs would work this morning and didn’t even worry about getting out of bed. You just stepped out and started to your lifestyle—which may have included a run! You believed you would be ministered to with this devotional and you choose to open it on a computer screen (you believed you could do that as well) and read it (you believed your eyes could still read). Truth is, your belief system is already in place today. You may be sitting in a chair. You believed that it would hold you and didn’t check out the legs, but just plopped into it. And we read these words today “I know that my Vindicator lives” and “I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.” Know that God lives today and wants the best today. You may have not seen the good things that you were expecting yet, but maybe today is the day or maybe God will choose to do different good things in your life today—because they happen every day. Believe in God today for that simple task or greatest obstacle before you. Believe that God is working in the lives of individuals debating life or death right now. Believe He will give you the strength to see what He will do today. With all of your heart, do you “believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living”? If do, live like it today.
