10 Aug Bountiful Harvest (2 Cor 9:6) By Rosemary Bernth
“Brothers and sisters: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”~ 2 Cor 9:6 (full readings)
Rosemary’s Reflections: Although I never grew up on a farm, living in the Heartland had taught me lessons in growing crops: when to plant, when to harvest, keeping an eye on the weather, etc. These also can be applied to growing a fruitful life– if you sow hate and despair, what do you think you’re going to get back? The same goes for love–if you only love your friends and family, chances are it will only stay in those acres. But if we grow love in the hearts of strangers, then we are fulfilling our duty as Christians to “love thy neighbor as thyself.” It amazes me everyday at how big our LIFE Runner team has grown just within one year. What’s even more exciting is how many more unborn lives we have saved from the cruelty of abortion. Our help towards pregnancy centers has planted the seeds of hope for many pregnant women and families willing to adopt. What better bountiful harvest could there be than saving God’s gift of Life?

Faith Quote: “The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.” ~ Masanobu Fukuoka
* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion (images) is #1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/spassage/?searchacrifice/mercy). Mt 28:19.
