Bringing People To Jesus (Mk 6:56) by Jeff Grabosky

JesusHeals“Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.” ~ Mk 6:56 (full readings)
.
Jeff’s Reflections:  A very clear picture is drawn in Mark’s Gospel of people bringing the sick before Jesus Christ for healing. Their faith is evident and Jesus healed all who reached out and touched the tassel on His cloak. We can all in some way bring people to Jesus, just like St. Jerome Emiliani did, whose feast day is today. He was a military commander from Venice who then studied for the priesthood. His life was spent helping orphans, the sick, and prostitutes. He eventually passed away taking care of the sick in 1537. His life was an example of someone giving of himself to bring the love of Christ to others for true healing. Let us do the same, especially with those who suffer from the pain of a past abortion, and even those who are proponents of this evil.
