25 Feb Brother’s Keeper (Lk 6:37) by Dr. Rich Reich
Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion(FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors.
“Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.” ~ Lk 6:37 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: A chief value of our culture today is tolerance; however, tolerance is not a Christian virtue. Our culture teaches that true love is an accepting love that is tolerant of other people’s choices and lifestyles. Any attempt to correct someone from committing sin is viewed as closed-minded and arrogant. The Lord commands us not to judge or condemn others, but this does not mean to ignore sin and do nothing. Whether we want to admit it or not, we are our brother’s keeper (Gen 4:9). We are called to warn, intercede for, teach, prophesy to, and serve sinners. Our job is to remove the specks from others’ eyes and call them to repent after we let others help us to repent (Lk 6:42). We are ministers of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18). We have a responsibility to protect others from sin; especially the sin of abortion. Do not be tolerant of abortion. You are your brother’s and sister’s keeper. Protect the women, men, unborn, and families from abortion by showing them God’s love. Judge the sin and love the sinner.

Faith Challenge: In a culture of tolerance, we can’t afford to be tolerant of abortion. Judge the sin of abortion, but love those affected by the sin.
