22 Jul Burial Places (Ex 14:11) by Dr. Rich Reich
Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion(FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors.
“And they complained to Moses, ‘Were there no burial places in Egypt that you had to bring us out here to die in the desert?'” ~ Ex 14:11 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: Moses led the Israelites into the desert rescuing them from slavery in Egypt; however, the Israelites were not very grateful and responded that they would have rather died as slaves in Egypt. The Israelites did not have faith in Moses or God that He would protect and provide for them in the desert. Pregnant women can find themselves in the same state of desperation as the Israelites. The reasons most frequently cited by an article published by the Guttmacher Institute for women deciding to have an abortion include: having a child would interfere with a woman’s education, work or ability to care for dependents (74%); that she could not afford a baby now (73%); and that she did not want to be a single mother or was having relationship problems (48%). These women do not have faith that adoption is a viable choice. They do not have faith that 9 months of pregnancy and labor is worth saving a human life. They do not have faith that others will be there to help and support them and their child. We need to support women in need to help protect them from choosing the womb as a burial place for the unborn.
