24 Sep Can’t Hide the Light (Lk 8:17) by Dr. Rich Reich
“For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.” ~ Lk 8:17 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: The message of today’s Gospel should be clear; don’t put God’s revelation under the bushel basket of fear and selfishness or under the bed of apathy. Jesus commanded us to put the light of His Truth on the lampstand for all to see (Lk 8:16). Thankfully, the Truth of God’s Word will get out to people even if we fail to proclaim it (like the light peeking through a bushel basket). Jesus can light the world without us, but what a privilege it is to be a part of His illumination. Lord, may Your light shine in me to the world so that people may see goodness in my acts and praise You. Amen.

Faith Quote: “Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” ~ Helen Keller
* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion (images) is #1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Mt 28:19.
