09 Apr Change US (Jn 8:31) by Ed Heigl
“Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, ‘If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'” ~ Jn 8:31 (full readings)

Ed’s Reflections: There is nothing special about me other than that I have a unique perspective on life as I lost my one and only older sister to abortion. It was a situation in which my mother had no choice and the pain of this loss remained with her the entire 96 years of her life. I know how a society treats “non-persons” and how a Christian Germany and much of Europe turned their back on the reality that was occurring with the Nazis and with the Communists. In the same way, much of our media, many of our leaders, and many of the people accept the toxic scourge of abortion in our nation which has become a holocaust larger then what happened in Nazi Germany. I had uncles and cousins who went into the concentration camps as prisoners because they stood up for life. To this very day in many places around the world nothing has changed with regard to the lack of respect for the human person. In North Korea, China and in many other nations, including the U. S., abuses on people and person-hood continue. The time is now and it is up to US to change “U.S.” A culture of life will change the world, beginning with our own families, churches and neighborhoods. This we are called to do to make a difference by being faithful in our own lives and let God work in His time. The ultimate victory of good over evil and life over death has been already won and the price has already been paid. It is up to us to help bring in the harvest as workers in His field for life. We all have the choice as it is in our free will to know, to serve and to love the Lord and to treat our neighbor as ourselves or to ignore His call and His word which in our time is being given to us and preached to all nations.
