10 Aug Cheerful Giver (2 Cor 9:6-10) by Paige Castle
“Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” ~ 2 Cor 9:6-10 (full readings)
.
Paige’s Reflections: Being thankful for what you have been blessed with, kind actions towards others, and prayer will strengthen your faith. Any kind act towards someone could lead them to do the same for others and strengthen their faith or lead them to Christ. Kind acts not only help a fellow child of God but also the doer of the act. This also goes along with “actions speaker louder than words” and “be a friend, make a friend, lead someone to Jesus.” This is demonstrated by the discovery that 84% of women who had an abortion would have chosen life for their child if someone would have encouraged them. Teammates, we all have been called to be cheerful givers to not only women and children in crisis but to one another. If we show by example, respect for life born and unborn, others will follow. People are attracted to cheerful giving. We must reflect on all that God has provided for us and our families, and then cheerfully give to those in need. This changes hearts and minds. Have a great day, All In Christ, cheers!

Faith Challenge: When you are out and about today (even at home) show a small act of being a cheerful giver. Give a smile, a high-five, an encouraging remark, go out of your way to hold the door for someone, or help a mother push the cart to her car. This has a positive chain effect.
