Welcome God now with this LIFE Runners Devotion (FB) provided by Team Leaders and Guest Authors.
.
“When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Child, your sins are forgiven.'” ~ Mk 2:5 (full readings)
.
Whitney’s Reflections: It is important to remember the many variables of being Pro-Life; we are running and fighting for the dignity of the human person from conception to natural death. Likewise, there are also many variables regarding the issues of abortion. The main focus is fighting for the child in the mother’s womb; however, we cannot forget the mothers who may have regrettably had an abortion. They also have a great dignity that deserves our love and respect. There is a great need to run for those who will be reaching out to these broken women, and if we ourselves are given the opportunity to minister to one of these women we must present the Gospel not just as news, but as Good News, because it is. It is good news that God has the power and authority on earth to forgive sins. It is also good news that through apostolic succession God still forgives sins today through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is good news that we can share with the broken mothers who may have had an abortion that they too can be forgiven and healed. As disciples, we must take these women to Christ so they can be reconciled with God so as to experience the two-fold spiritual and physical healing of Christ, who has conquered death. It is Christ who can say to them, “your sins are forgiven…rise, pick up your mat and walk.”
