“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites.  You cleanse the outside of cup and dish, but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence.  Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may be clean”
~ Mt 23:25-26 (full readings)

Sara’s Reflections:  How many of us like to take a shower/bath and get all cleaned up and put on nice clean clothes to go somewhere?  We all pretty much do right?  Jesus in the Gospel today is talking, not just to the Pharisees and scribes, but to all of us as well.  WE ALL want to look nice on the outside, but do WE forget to take care of the inside of us?  Are WE thoughtless, selfish, unkind, unmerciful, unforgiving, short on patience to our kids and spouse, rude, wear immodest clothing, watch bad movies, listen to bad music, say bad words, forget to pray, and tell bad jokes, etc.?  The list could go on and on.  How are WE as Christians and Pro Lifers?  Do WE just wear our gear as Life Runners but fail at saying our Life Runner Creed,  praying at the abortion clinic at least once a month, helping out at Crisis Centers, going to Life Runner events, telling the TRUTH about abortion to others at our Church, jobs, family, friends, schools, and kids events?  Do WE criticize our neighbor for NOT doing something, but are WE ALL IN FOR LIFE or just on the outside?  Our Precious Jesus is telling us ALL to clean up our act, inside first then outside.  WE are ALL guilty of failing in this area.  If WE don’t clean up our inside and WE think WE are fine, WE are running around  BLIND.  WE cannot SEE the hurting people around us, the innocent babies to save and their mothers, the elderly, the handicapped, and families that need help.  WE can’t  CALL OUT a SEARCH PARTY to RESCUE the UNBORN BABIES and their FAMILIES if WE are too BLIND from the dirt within.  It is so easy to shower and put on clean clothes on the outside, but it is harder to clean the dirt within.  With  GOD”S HELP , WE CAN make ourselves spotless, so  that the LIGHT of JESUS can SHINE through us.  So when people are looking at us they will only see JESUS.
