“Peter said to Him in reply, ‘Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.’ He said, ‘Come.’ Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’ After they got into the boat, the wind died down. Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, ‘Truly, you are the Son of God.'”

Matthew’s Reflections:  We know He is with us! We know He is in us!  It is through our gift of faith that we live our lives as followers of Christ.  Our first Pope, Peter, taught us in today’s Gospel that no matter what the world throws at us, He can and will reach out His hand and lead us in our Fathers Will. As the secular world tries to poison the natural laws God Himself has established, life, marriage and our ability to worship, no matter how rough the seas get, we should strive to live holy lives and say, “Truly, you are the Son of God!” Peace be with you!

Faith Quote:
“True love causes pain.  Jesus, in order to give us the proof of His love, died on the cross.  A mother, in order to give birth to her baby, has to suffer.  If you really love one another, you will not be able to avoid making sacrifices.” ~ Blessed Mother Teresa
