19 Aug Consecrate (Josh 3:5) by Pastor Rick Foreman
“Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow God will do great things among you.” ~ Josh 3:5 (full readings)
.
Pastor Rick’s Reflections: One definition of “consecrate” is to dedicate something or somebody to a particular purpose. “Consecrate“ is a verb requiring action and in the connotation of this scripture, serves as a foundational structure of faith that God is going to do great things. A great thing for a LIFE Runner is the end of abortion. The scripture really represents the particular purpose of LIFE Runners, who witness, run and pray. How long will we “consecrate” ourselves? Until we Cross the finish line that ends abortion. According to NPR news in July, “In a little over a year, the number of clinics that provide abortions in Texas fell to 20 from 41.” A 50% reduction in one year represents the greatness of our God in supporting His purpose of “LIFE” in light of the enemies desire to kill, steal and destroy. As we personally and as a TEAM, grow and consecrate ourselves for this great purpose, we can rest assure that God is going to continue to do great things among us in preserving LIFE and ending abortion. The LORD’s purpose is always to give life. I like what Proverbs 19:21 states, “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.” We know that heaven and earth will pass away but His Word will endure forever. So as LIFE Runners, we “consecrate” ourselves with full dedication to knowing Him and His Word, while also dedicating our life and the next run to saving one more unborn child. We are believing that the next “great thing,” will be the closing of the remaining 21 abortion clinics in Texas by the end of 2014. With God all things are possible!

Faith Challenge: Make a decision to consecrate yourself at a deeper level for this particular season. The enemy will not go quietly without a fight. Although scripture says in this world we’ll have trials and tribulation; it also states, to be of good cheer, because Jesus has already overcome the world. Choose to connect your faith, with His Word, while having a confident expectation that He will indeed continue to bring victories and great things tomorrow.
