11 Nov Divine Intimacy (Wis 1:4) by Dr. Rich Reich
Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion(FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors
“Because into a soul that plots evil wisdom does not enter, nor does she dwell in a body under debt of sin.” ~ Wis 1:4 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: God’s eternal plan of love is to espouse us to Himself forever (Hosea 2:19). Essentially, He wants to marry us. God also wants us to live in Him and have an intimacy with us beyond anything we could ever imagine. The love shared between a married man and woman is only a hint of the mystical eternal union that God desires for us with Him. However, God Who is absent of sin cannot be near us when we are in a sinful state. If we wish to be close to God and to keep the faith rather than lose it, we must repent of our sins and let Jesus pay our debt of sin. In our Pro-Life ministry, we need to pray for those who are considering committing the grave sin of abortion, and pray for the peaceful healing of post-abortive men and women that only Jesus can provide. As human beings, we all share in the internal craving for unity with God. Unfortunately, many in our culture misinterpret this desire for communion with God with the selfish desire for wealth, lust, and power.
