23 Sep Don’t Dim the Lights (Lk 8:17) by Dr. Rich Reich
Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion(FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors.
“For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.” ~ Luke 8:17 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: This week I started reading a book by Peter Kreeft called “The Snakebite Letters.” This book is like a modern version of C.S. Lewis’ “Screwtape Letters”, which allows the readers to spy into Hell’s inter-office communication. Satan’s agents converse back and forth through letters about their strategies for corrupting American society, public and private morality, and the Church. Their underlying strategy throughout the book is to keep things in the dark (Dim the Lights). Snakebite says to his underling, Braintwister, about abortion: “Keep their eyes off the simple, honest question of objective truth, the question of just what abortion is and what the ‘thing’ that is poisoned, scalded, or cut limb from limb by abortion is. Never let them call it a ‘baby.'” Don’t let your friends, families, and others fall into Satan’s trap by hiding the truth. Abortion IS about the baby. In your discussions with them, don’t let them avoid this fact. He or she is a human and not just a product of conception that can be discarded into a biological waste container.
