30 Mar End of Time (Is 42:6) by Kevin McNicholas
“I, the Lord, have called you for justice, I have grasped you by the hand; I formed you, and set you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations.“ ~ Is 42:6 (full readings).
Kevin’s Reflections: God is speaking not only to Isaiah in this verse, this is also directed to you and I. God calls us to act with justice, to devote ourselves to what we know to be “the New and Everlasting Covenant,” and shine as a light to the nations. Our Faith in God tells us not to be afraid of what we see around us, and of other people’s actions. I think that setting aside fear allows us a greater ability to work for justice in the world, to promote the Culture of Life in a society that offers so many deaths for souls. Pornography. Impurity. Hatred. Anger. Unforgiveness. These damage people so deeply. Abortion stops a beating heart, this is a well known and scientifically proven fact. So many people live with such deep sorrow and pain as a result, always wondering who their child would have grown up to be. The devastating impact of abortion will not be known until the end of time. The miraculous impact that the pro-life movement has had will also not be known until the end of time. So many people seach for a reason not to go through with their abortion, we are called to witness the Gospel and give them that reason! The more I look at photos of our children when they were first born and as they have grown, the more similarities I see to the tiny faces and features of babies in the early stages of development in utero. Human beings inside and outside, God knows that and so do we.
