Equipped (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work .” ~  2 Tim. 3:16-17 (full readings)

Steve’s Reflections:    Are you competent and equipped for God’s work?  St. Jerome, the first person to translate the Bible stated, “Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ.”  The Bible is central to forming a relationship with Jesus Christ because it tells the story of his life; who He is and what He teaches.  Paul makes it clear in today’s reading the infinite value of scripture and it’s use for “every good work.”  There is never a circumstance in which scripture is not valuable!  It always adds to our faith life.  The LIFE Group was founded on the bedrock of faith and devotion to scripture and the life of this ministry flows from the continued daily LIFE Devotions.  Our founding verse (Jeremiah 1:5) speaks of God’s truth and plan for us from the earliest stages of life, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”  The Mission of the LIFE Group to defend life from conception to natural death through prayer, awareness, and charity is rooted firmly in this verse and our Catholic faith.
