07 May Eternal Life (Jn 6:40) by Peggy Bowes
“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.” ~ Jn 6:40 (full readings)
Peggy’s Reflections: Every day, as I walk my dog, I pray for an end to abortion, for conversion of those involved with it in any way, and for healing and forgiveness for those who seek it. I ask God’s blessing and guidance for those of us involved in the pro-life movement, that we would do His will and that our numbers will increase. Yet I pray most fervently for those tiny unborn babies– that God will hold them and comfort them, ease their suffering, and welcome them into heaven with a martyr’s glory. I trust that they will see the Son and believe and will have everlasting life in heaven, that their terrible ordeal will result in the greatest of joys.

Faith Challenge: Do you know that you can “spiritually adopt” an unborn baby who is in danger of abortion? First, choose a name for this baby, then pray the following prayer daily for nine months: “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of [baby’s name] the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.” – Prayer of Archbishop Fulton J.
