“All those who sat in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.” ~ Acts 6:15 (full readings)

Rich’s Reflections:  Have you ever debated with someone about abortion and the reproductive rights of women?  In today’s reading,  an international all-star team of debaters challenged St. Stephen, “but they could not withstand the wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke.” (Acts 6:10)  They presented him before the Sanhedrin speaking falsely against him, but all the Sanhedrin could see was the “face of an angel.” (Acts 6:15)  Today’s reading made me think about the front-lines of the abortion war and those who gather at the fences of Planned Parenthood clinics across the U.S.  These pro-lifers find themselves on the same side of the abortion debate speaking the truth, but sometimes with different approaches.  There are those who are peacefully praying and reaching out to assist women with a kind and gentle hand, and there are those who are so passionate that their anger destroys the message of truth and becomes ineffective.  Like the Sanhedrin, even those who do not know the truth of abortion can recognize the “face of an angel.”  Peacefully reach out to women in need at abortion clinics near you and show them the Peace of Christ.  * Dr. Rich Reich is the co-founder of the LIFE Group Devotions and the National LIFE Runners Team.  He is married to Erica and lives in Satellite Beach, FL.  Full bio.
