“Their wealth remains in their families, their heritage with their descendants.”

Rich’s Reflections:  Jesus warned us about “laying the foundation and then not being able to complete the work” (Lk 14:29).  As in today’s reading, our wealth remains in our families and in the future of our descendants.  As pro-lifers, we need to continue to persevere against the culture of death until we complete the work of ending abortion.  Pope John Paul II condemned  a growing and widespread “culture of death” in his 1995 encyclical translated as “The Gospel of Life.”  The culture of death views the moral crimes of abortion and euthanasia as individual rights.  “Choices once unanimously considered criminal and rejected by the common moral sense are gradually becoming socially acceptable,” Pope John Paul II declared.  As LIFE Runners we need to finish the race.  We need to pass the baton onto the next generation so that they can continue the work of ending abortion.  This requires us to invest in the wealth of our families and to educate people on the sacred value of life.
