06 Dec [First Wed!] Peace Be With You (Ps 122:8) by Rich Reich
For the sake of my brothers and friends I say, ‘Peace be with you.’ ~ Psalms 122:8
.
Reflection: Jesus often greeted His disciples with the saying, “Peace be with you”; however, Jesus would have spoken to His disciples in Hebrew saying, “Shalom”. Shalom is a wish for an abundance of blessings. In Jesus’ case, it is not merely a wish, because He has the power to communicate what He says. Jesus does not wish peace, He gives it. The peace that Jesus gives is the shalom of God, a supernatural peace of spiritual completeness. His peace is much more profound, healing, strengthening, and lasting than anything the world can offer. The underlying message of the LIFE Runners Creed is PEACE for all those who have been hurt by abortion. “We run as a Prayer, we run to build Endurance, we run for Awareness, we run for Charity, we run to End abortion. Guard us all, born and unborn, with Your PEACE, Lord.”
.
