16 Jul Fix Your Eyes on Jesus (Mt 11:28-30) by Angi Castle
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” ~ Mt 11:28-30 (full readings)
Angi’s Reflections: Some days I am tired. I am tired of working hard; I am tired of doing laundry. I am tired of making dinner. I am tired of worrying about what the future holds. I am just plain tired. God’s love for us never tires. We are to place our trust in him, and hand over our burdens and worries to him. God tells us that we are never in control of our life circumstances, but we can relax and place our trust and control in him. He asks us to let go of a safe and predictable life, and seek to know Him greater by living out this great adventure called life. God equips us for our journey in life. He is our constant Companion. When Mother’s first enter a Crisis Pregnancy center, they do not seek at that moment to know God. They instead want someone to listen to them and to help give them support on how they are to handle this unplanned pregnancy. It is in that moment where we listen and support that they see the “Face of God”. It is in that moment that they, for possibly the first time for some, may truly begin to trust someone other than themselves. It is in that moment that they begin to place their trust in God and seek rest and hope in new life.
