Rick’s Reflections:  Many people reach a point in life, where they begin living out of memory instead of living out of imagination.  This is the day we stop living and begin dying.  As Christians, we’re mandated to leave the past behind and to be fully alive and present.  And that is the message of Paul’s exhortation.  Words such as “straining” and “press” depict the intentional focus needed to disconnect from our past and to connect with Christ and our calling.  Much like sports, I wonder if the church of today is too content in playing a prevent defense, when God is calling for full court pressure?  I believe Life Runners are stepping into that full court pressure, where the future is created and not left to happenstance.  We stand on Philippians 4:13, knowing that we can do ALL things through Christ that gives us strength.  With Him, we are the change impacting our culture for pro-life and not death.

Faith Challenge:  Lets reflect on Matthew 11:12 “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.”  Are we playing offense in our relationships?  Or are we playing a prevent defense that leaves biblical servanthood on the sidelines?  Are we engaging, connecting, influencing and walking in the love of Christ in a reactionary or proactive mode?  Are we simply working for a paycheck or stewarding our God-given gifts pursuing a God-ordained dream?  Are we going for broke by invading the darkness with the light and love of Jesus Christ?  Life Runners represent that “going for broke” tenacity to walk in love, while standing for justice, and influencing others for Christ.
