Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors.
“Truly you have formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb. I give you thanks that I am fearfully, wonderfully made; wonderful are your works.”
~ Ps 139:13 (full readings)
Carrie’s Reflections: One evening while getting my son ready for bed he asked me, “Mama, how come I’m different?”  My response was immediate, “Why do you think you’re different?”  He sat up in bed and pointed to his arm and said “Because my skin is dark and yours isn’t.”   I knew in that moment that it was important that my child understand that although we might have different skin color and features, we’re all made in the likeness and image of God.  Isaac was wonderfully and fearfully made.  He’s a child of God who was knitted in the womb of his birth angel and he was the child born within my heart.  My child’s birth angel endured much distress and heartache from her family encouraging her to abort her unborn child; she remained steadfast in her beliefs knowing that abortion was NOT an option.  When I gaze into my son’s beautiful brown eyes I may not see a resemblance of his mommy or daddy but I see GOD!  I am a barren woman who was granted the greatest gift; and the gift was packaged just perfectly.  This gift and blessing to me is motherhood.  Each night, as my child lays sleeping, I watch him with amazement, knowing that God’s love is perfect in every way.  I can’t help but wonder what life would have been like without this precious blessing from above.  I’m thankful that Isaac’s birth angel chose LIFE and I thank Jesus for choosing me.

Faith Challenge: Are we taking the necessary steps to encourage women who have considered aborting their unborn child to consider adoption to those who are unable to conceive?  What would it look like if every unplanned pregnancy where abortion seemed the only option were replaced with unselfish love for 9 months to give this unborn child life through adoption?
