Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided byLIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors.
“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” ~ Lk 11:9 (full readings)
Kirsten’s Reflections: My mind goes in so many directions with this verse. I think about my parents and how many years they prayed for children. The Lord answered their prayers through adoption. Then I think about when I really started seeking out information about my birth parents- and having my birth father, through the adoption agency, actually find me first. It may not sound like much, but it was an answer to many prayers and opened many doors. Finally, I think about all potential birth parents out there. I asked my birth father about his thoughts for today’s readings. He told me I could include them: “Once you accept the gift of life within you; God says He will be there for you. All you have to do is ask. I pray that women become aware that to become pregnant is to accept a gift of life from God. This is a sacred bond between mother, child, and God. It begins with the Spirit and should not end for the satisfaction of the flesh (first reading, Gal 3:3). I pray that women understand that our Lord God is there to help them, if only they ask. Oh heavenly Father, help us all to understand your immense love for us and your love for life. Please help us to learn to help those in need. Send your Grace down upon us Lord, for the flesh is weak. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!”
