Rich’s Reflections:  Polls show that the majority (62%) of the U.S. is against abortion.  So why then is abortion legalized?  It may be that those who support abortion are more active than those who oppose it.  So for those who oppose abortion, what must we do?  The young rich man in today’s Gospel asked Jesus what he must do.  Jesus replied that he must give everything.  As Christians, we are called to give everything; 99% will not do.  Jesus gave us everything when He died on the cross for us.  We should give everything of ourselves in return.  The first and most basic commandment is about giving everything: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind” (Lk 10:27).  As Pro-Life Christians, we should defend the unborn with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength, and with all our mind.  * Dr. Rich Reich is the co-founder of the LIFE Group Devotions and the National LIFE Runners Team.  He is married to Erica and lives in Satellite Beach, FL.  Full bio.
