19 May Glorify God (Jn 17:4) by Peggy Bowes
“I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.” ~ Jn 17:4 (full readings)
.
Peggy’s Reflections: Think of these words of Jesus when you are standing in front of your local abortion center in the pouring rain, freezing temperatures, or even a beautiful day when you’d rather be out on your front porch with an icy beverage. You are glorifying God and doing His work through your presence as a witness to the unborn, who have no voice. You are radiating Christ’s love to everyone who passes by as you pray on the sidewalk. You may be one person, standing alone, silently praying a Rosary, but you matter. You may never know who you might have influenced or how your prayers may have helped, but your Heavenly Father knows and is pleased.

Faith Challenge: Try to devote one day a month to praying in front of your local abortion center, even if you just take enough time to pray a Rosary or stand silently with a pro-life sign for 15 minutes.

Faith Quote: “Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.” ~ St Francis of Assisi
