God has a Plan (Ps 119:97-98) by Chris Talley

01 Sep God has a Plan (Ps 119:97-98) by Chris Talley

“Oh, how I love your instructions!  I think about them all day long.  Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.”
~ Ps 119:97-98 (full readings)
Chris’ Reflections:  It’s hard to imagine sometimes the things that can go on in this world.  God has a plan, I hear that so often, and it’s hard not to ask the question why do so many bad things have to happen.  We were also given free will to choose.  To stand alone to protect the unborn is impossible.  Standing strong together we can make a difference.  It’s clear God wants us to be united and work together to change things.  As we approach our annual race of the year, I was reflecting back on last year.  So many plans were made, tours, a banquet, fellowship at the banquet.  But I believe God had a bigger plan for us that weekend.  He knew we needed to build stronger bonds, and close friendships with one another.  If you ask anyone who was stranded that weekend, either at the Hotel or at the Air Force Base, they would tell you they wouldn’t change a thing.  What we got that weekend was far greater than a medal completing a race, we got to know one another and as a result great things are happening.  St.Louis chapters have merged into one, by doing that we are more unified.  I also learned that Kansas City Life Runners get together for pot luck dinners. So I urge everyone to make time not only to run together and plan races, but to have fellowship with one another and get to know one another.
