20 Jan God is Faithful (PS 111 refrain) by Amy Kosta
“The Lord will remember his covenant forever.” ~ Ps 111 (full readings)

Amy’s Reflections: Reflecting upon the readings of today I was particularly drawn to the refrain of the responsorial psalm, “The Lord will remember his covenant forever.” As an advocate for life and a member of the National LIFE Runners Team, I am reminded of how our Lord is indeed keeping His promises every time I read news of how we are winning our fight against abortion. News of laws passed imposing longer waiting periods before obtaining abortions, closing of abortion clinics, and more pro-life mobile units on the roads to assist mothers in making a decision for life are most encouraging. Of course, the fight is not close to being at an end. The media continues to overwhelm us with its culture of death, but we push back with our message of life and love thanks to organizations like the Vitae Foundation. The anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision is just a few days away. Thousands of faithful Christians will converge upon Washington D.C. and many state capitals around the country to stand up for the unborn. As a pro-life people, we must show our support for the movement and stand with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Not everyone can make a pilgrimage; however, we can all contact our legislators and let them know we will not rest until this unthinkable attack on women ends. We must continue to pray for the lives of those affected by abortion and know that the Lord will hear and be faithful to His people.
