15 May God Prunes (Jn 15:2) by Ed Heigl
He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. ~ Jn 15:2
.
Reflection: The unholy parts of our life must be cut away so that the fruits of our good works may be brought forth. Pruning involves real sacrifice of our will and even suffering. Looking at the lives of the Saints gives us many examples of imperfect individuals who were open to God’s will in their lives and who allowed Him to prune their lives. From this pruning by God, they bore much fruit and became examples to all of how we should live our lives. We too in our ordinary lives can accomplish extraordinary things through Jesus if we stay connected and draw our strength through Him. Today more than ever our Faith is being attacked. The enemy knows that he is running out of time. We must be steadfast in our faith to always bear witness to Life as a God given gift. Wearing the LIFE Runners jersey is a very powerful witness that impacts souls by this very simple but courageous act.
