08 Mar God’s Mercy (Jn 5:6) by Jeff Grabosky
When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, “Do you wish to get well?” ~ Jn 5:6
Reflection: Today’s Gospel hit me with just how much Christ cares for us and has such great mercy on us. We sometimes can forget that God is omnipotent and knows how long we have suffered. The man Jesus cured was ill for thirty-eight years and the Gospel mentions how Christ knew how long the man had suffered! There are so many people among us who suffer with the pains of a past abortion. God knows how long and how hard the suffering has been and is ready to heal people and be merciful. Let today’s reading be a reminder of that love and mercy – and that Christ can heal even the most difficult and painful situations!
Challenge: Pray for those who have suffered for a long time, that they may know and feel the healing power of Christ.
