I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused the growth.” ~ 1 Cor 3:6 (full readings)

Pat’s Reflections:  “But God caused the growth.” If we are not grounded in this understanding (humility), we are no good to ourselves, others or God.  With this understanding, we can see every ministry role as important.  How very humbling that our Creator calls us to be His co-workers (1 Cor 3:9) in building His kingdom here and now.  We have planted/watered, and God has caused the LIFE Group Devotions to grow from 30 members in 2008 to over 3,000 members today (background)…and the LIFE Runners from 17 runners in 2010 to 375 runners/walkers today (background).  I recently saw parts of a documentary about three young men who fasted from all food for seven continuous days…All In Christ for Pro-Life.  I was taken by the humility of the cameraman who also fasted but was never seen or heard from during the documentary.  Crazy Horse was a Native American known for his humble approach.  He was honored with over 100 eagle feathers but never wore them.  While visiting Bear Butte State Park (SD), daughter Paige pointed out a display that said Crazy Horse never wanted his photo taken, but now his face is carved (87 ft) on a mountain in the Black Hills.  “He has exalted those who were humble.  He has filled the hungry with good things” (Luke 1:52-53).
