Bonnie’s Reflections:  Have you taken this message from Leviticus into your heart as a pro-lifer?  It can be very difficult because it goes against the instinctual, gut reaction to immensely dislike pro-choice people who distort the truth.  And immense dislike is dangerously close to hatred sometimes.  I say “distort the truth.”  There may indeed be many instances of outright lying, like the deceit that enabled the Roe vs. Wade decision, and the declaration that the unborn child was just a mass of tissue.  But evil is not so much an entity in itself, as much as the twisting (however subtle) of the truth.  There’s enough of a grain of truth so as to make it attractive, that many will be deceived.  How careful we must be to test every spirit, as St. Paul says, and to notice the fruit that it bears.  So when our sisters and brothers believe a lie, let us not hate them or cherish a grudge.  They have believed a half-truth, which is very easy to do!  Let us truly love them and pray humbly for their welfare.
