Jeff’s Reflections: The Lord’s Prayer is one that we have all probably prayed countless times. However, how often do we really stop and reflect on the words we are praying? For me, it took a time in my life sitting in a hospital after an emergency surgery to both turn to the Lord’s Prayer and actually reflect on the words I was speaking. I specifically focused on the “Hallowed be Thy Name” part of the prayer. I realized in my own life that I needed to not only try to do God’s Will, but to honor Him in everything I did. While I still have work to do, I truly felt a difference in the way I started acting and in the ways I started speaking towards people. In the same way, it is important we always speak the truth, but do it in a way that honors God. If our message of the sanctity of life is spoken otherwise, it will likely not be received. So let us pray the Lord’s Prayer and act on those holy words each moment of our lives.
