Hear, See, and Speak the Truth (Mk 4:21-25) by Dr. Tom Deering

30 Jan Hear, See, and Speak the Truth (Mk 4:21-25) by Dr. Tom Deering

“For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light.  Anyone who has hear and see truthears to hear ought to hear.” ~ Mk 4:21-25 (full readings)

Tom’s Reflections:  Our very immortal souls depend upon our accepting this simple truth:  Our Father has given us eyes to see and ears to hear.  Our Lord Jesus has spoken to us and shown us what is true and what is false, where to walk in safety and where to stand clear.  The Holy Spirit will always give us the strength and grace we need to do what is right.  Unfortunately, I am a sinner, as we all are.  The good news is I know I am a sinner, and I know Our Lord’s love and mercy are perfect.  He will always forgive me when I ask for forgiveness.  There have always been those who have not used Our Father’s gifts of sight and hearing to accept Our Lord’s words and to follow His examples.  In today’s world the evil of abortion is being accepted as good and the good work of the pro-life majority is being denigrated and dismissed as “old fashioned”, “bible thumping”, and worse.  Today our young are being lied to and led down the path of sin and evil.  Our responsibility is to help them hear the truth and see the evil for what it is.

Faith Quote:  “To be grateful is to recognize the Love of God in everything He has given us – and He has given us everything.  Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him.” ~ Thomas Merton
