Reflection:  Before abortion was legalized, it was nowhere on the radar for most Americans.  We simply didn’t or couldn’t conceive the thought of babies being killed in the womb.  The news of Roe v. Wade changed our world instantly.  It was the defining moment when human life became disposable.  If a defenseless child could be legally killed in the sanctuary of their mother’s womb, then how could any one of us be protected from evil?  We became acutely aware of the preciousness, the sacredness of life.  A heightened sense of the supernatural took a firm grip on us.  This is a battle of principalities, a spiritual battle far greater than we alone can overcome.  We are “fellow citizens with the holy ones.”  We are living the New Evangelization professed by St. John Paul II.  We must step forward to profess the Gospel of Life with boldness, charity, and love.
