Karen’s Reflections:  Have you ever skipped breakfast and then find yourself at the grocery store near lunch. It’s the worst possible time to shop because you are so hungry and everything you don’t need you end up buying. You make poor choices driven out of hunger. The same can be said for our spiritual walk. When we don’t make time for God each day, to spend in prayer and reflection we get hungry. As our hunger grows the enemy sees a chance to come in and offer us things we don’t want, and in our weakened state sometimes we give in to the temptation of sin. Anyone who says that they don’t need quiet time with God every day is fooling themselves. We cannot do this without God’s daily bread! We must stay in communion with the Lord if we want to grow in Him and have our lives shaped by Him. It is in this daily quiet time that God directs us, corrects us, and encourages us forward. We must make it a priority to give Him a portion of each day so that He can nourish us so that we are strong to stand against the enemy! As we battle the culture of death we need the strength given by our heavenly Father.
