“Jesus told his disciples a parable: ‘Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit? No disciple is superior to the teacher; but when fully trained, every disciple will be like his teacher. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?'” ~ Lk 6:39-41 (full readings)

Sara’s Reflections:  What were you doing on that tragic day on September 11, 2001, when hijacked planes by terrorists crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and outside  Pennsylvania killing over 3,000 people? What were we doing while our country was being attacked? I was watching the news in shock and fear, 8 months pregnant, expecting our 6th baby, our daughter Maria. What were you doing on this tragic day of January 22, 1973 (for those that were alive then and are old enough to remember) that made legal in our country, for mothers to murder their own baby at their convenience? The preborn are now forever treated unequal to us. These babies are being attacked in their mother’s womb which used to be the safest place for them. And over 50 million people (babies) have died. As you can see from both dates in our America history, our country is forever changed and different, and not for the better either. In the Gospel today, Jesus is trying to tell us that we are blind to our mistakes, but we think we see others clearly. and also that we are to treat others as we want to be treated. We are all equal. We are all sinners. There was the good, the bad, the rich, and the poor people that  died on September 11, 2001. We are all wonderfully made by God. He loves us all the same, and He loves us just as we are, but He doesn’t want us to stay like we are. He wants us better; to be better for Him and each other. We as LIFE Runners and Pro-lifers should not be staring at how bad, how sinful, and how blind the abortion-minded people are out there. We need to humble ourselves before Jesus and ask Him to forgive us and give us His mercy and His love. We need to take the splinters out of our own eyes first so we can help  the aborted-minded people out there and give them Jesus’ love and mercy. After September 11, 2001, the days that followed, we as a nation under God came together to try to restore our broken and hurting country. We need to do the same now with abortion. We as LIFE Runners and Pro-lifers need to come together to get rid of this Evil that is attacking our precious babies and start to restore our nation under God. If We don’t get rid of our own blindness first, we won’t be able to see the next attack on our nation or on us, and people will not be able see Jesus in our eyes.  We then will fall into the pit again.

Faith Quote:
“God wants to reach out to others through your hands. He wants to speak to others through your lips and God wants others to look into your eyes and see Him. GIVE GOD PERMISSION.” ~ Bl. Cardinal John O’ Connor
