02 Apr Images of Life (John 12:10-11)
“And the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too, because many of the Jews were turning away and believing in Jesus because of him.” ~ John 12:10-11 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: The last line of the Gospel today struck a chord with me. Not only were the chief priests plotting to kill Jesus, but they were also planning to kill Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. This is because many people who saw Lazarus were believing in Jesus because of him. The plot of the chief priests to remove the truth of Lazarus’ existence reminded me of how the abortion industry tries to prevent mothers from seeing the ultrasound image of their unborn child, the truth of their child’s existence. The abortion industry knows the statistics that approximately 90 percent of women who see their baby by ultrasound choose life, and this would be bad for business. The ultrasound allows the mother to realize that the decision she is making is not only about her life, but also involves the life of another human being, a life that God has entrusted her to protect. Lord, help us to reveal the truth to others of Your existence and the life You have created. Amen.
Faith Challenge: Help reveal the truth to others. Support charities that provide free ultrasounds to women so that they may see the images of life.
Our Prayers: Prayer to end abortion, Spiritual Adoption, Alpha Center, Peters family (JP). Add Prayers on our website. Pray with meals, bedtime, wake up, LIFE Runners, etc. Consider mid-week Family Rosary (17 min). Let’s pray now.
Feast Day: St. Francis of Paola
Faith Quote: “In fact many women will come to me considering abortion, and I have been personally told that I am to turn the monitor away from her view so that seeing her baby jump around on the screen does not influence her choice.” ~ Shari Richards, quoted from the John Ankerburg Show on 3/7/90.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Mt 28:19.
