“Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”
~ Lk 1:45 (full readings)
Kevin’s Reflections: We have a 7 month old daughter, Elliana (which means “The Lord Answers”). She has a book that we love to read to her called Just Like Mary, which explains the Holy Mother’s life and how she said, “Yes” to God so many different times. There have been many times that I have been afraid to say yes to God, but have felt the Holy Mother comforting me and heard her consoling me, encouraging me to say yes to God. There is a line in the book that explains that Jesus does not like to say no to his mother, so when we ask her intercession, she asks her Son for whatever we need. It is a great way for children (and adults!) to realize that our path to salvation is aided by the Holy Mother’s intercession. Her apparitions at Knock, Lourdes, Medjugorje, Fatima, and Guadalupe, just to name a few, have led to the conversion of millions, and have brought countless souls to Heaven. Today, please ask the Holy Mother to hear your prayer!
* Kevin McNicholas and his wife, Laura, are Engaged Encounter leaders in the Belleville, Illinois diocese. They were blessed with their daughter Elliana on October 2nd, 2012, the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels.
