Isaiah 38:5 (tears water the soul)

18 Jul Isaiah 38:5 (tears water the soul)

* Welcome God every morning before work by taking ~5 min to read this Living In Faith Exchange (LIFE) Group devotion (, which has snippets from Living Faith (
I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. Isaiah 38:5
Living Faith snippets: “Early theologians called tears a blessing and a grace. They believed tears water the soul, and help the heart’s cry to be heard. If we dam up the water, do we keep our souls thirsty and barren? On the other hand, if we stop inhibiting them, might they help free us from whatever is making us dead inside? Beloved! See my tears. Hear my prayer.” by Mary Marrocco
Sister Francelle snippets: “Dearest Ones, As a child, I looked to the saints as my friends in heaven helping me and I still do. St. Therese, saint of the Little Way, helps me to see the will of God in all that happens. St. Anthony helps me to find lost things. I pray to St. Isidore the farmer, to intercede and send rain to the farms and gardens, especially now, with the dryness. I pray to St. Joseph when someone is looking for work, he’ll help them through the hard times. I ask St. Rita ‘s intercession when people ask me to pray for a difficult marriage and St. Jude is the Saint of impossible cases! When I had cataract surgery, I prayed to St. Odilia and St. Lucy, patrons saints of eye problems. St. Peregrine is the patron saint of those with cancer. I have no doubt those in heaven hear our prayers and pray for us. Why wouldn’t they? We ask our friends on earth to pray for us, why not ask those who have gone before us? We don’t worship the saints, we only worship God, but we honor them, just as we honor loved ones in this world. Love you, Sister Francelle” To read her entire devotion, including a summary of the incredible life of Blessed Margaret of Castello, go to

* Defend the unborn: ‘Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die’ (Prov 24:11). ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you’ (Jer 1:5). ‘It is a great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish’ Blessed Mother Teresa. * Evangelization: Let’s make room for non-believers (be a friend, make a friend, lead friend to Christ) and perpetual re-evangelization of self and those near us, by way of daily prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of selfless love, mercy, and service.
Let’s joyfully live out the Good News and gladly tell others about it (Mark 16:15)!
