John 14:1 (let go…let God!)

08 May John 14:1 (let go…let God!)

Let’s welcome God every morning before work by taking ~5 min to read this Living In Faith Exchange (LIFE) Group devotion (, which has snippets from Living Faith. All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Col. 3:17

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. John 14:1 (full readings)

Living Faith snippets: “Do not let your heart be, or stay, troubled. Have faith in God and in Him. Yet, each troubling moment makes me want to panic again, like parents desperate to help their teens, but unable to find a way; or a soldier and family separated, deeply missing and fearful for one another; or anyone caught in the widespread troubles of the economy. In speaking these words at His Last Supper, with His death inevitable and soon…He offered faith to His followers [us].” by Fr. James Krings

LIFE Group nuggets:
* Angi and me are escorting 4 cadets to China (13-29 May) for the Great Wall Marathon (16 May). We will be in Beijing, Guilin, and Shanghai. Angi’s Mom (Sharon) will take care of Paige and Grace at our home. Please keep us all in your prayers. Thanks to Rich for covering all of the devotions while I am gone.
* Sr. Francelle’s devotion: Children of the Heavenly Father‏.
* Pastor Don’s devotion: “Cooties…they’re over-rated!”.
* Ross Paulick shared: Ten Years Later, Boy’s ‘Hand of Hope’ Continues to Spark Debate…”On Aug. 19, 1999, photographer Michael Clancy shot the “Fetal Hand Grasp” — his picture of a 21-week-old fetus grasping a doctor’s finger during innovative surgery to correct spina bifida. Nearly four months later, on Dec. 2, Samuel Armas was [born].”
* Lynn McAleece Bishara shared: “Here’s a cute little story to show you how much even little ones “get it”…last week, Patrick [a toddler] was goofing off in one of the showers, and got the drain cover off…he stuck his hand in the water that was standing there, and said, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

Faith Challenge: Let’s challenge each other to joyfully live out the Good News.
* NEW: Let’s offer up our troubles to God for a special prayer intention…living out our faith that God has us covered!

* Let’s never forget the horrific reality of abortion (images)…#1 cause of death in America. Let’s courageously share ProLife Truth (John 14:6) to create social tension for exposing abortion’s unjust peace…rebuilding a Culture of Life (Matt 5:16) and setting the unborn free!

Our Prayers: Those who pray together stay together. Fasting ideas below.
* Prayer to end abortion, abused children, chastity, peace, our enemies, our troops, depression/ despair, prisoners, ProLife politicians, illnesses/injuries, jobs, natural disasters, addictions, Jason Peters (son JP in the hospital)
* NEW: Steve and Tina Castle (Sarah Kay Castle born yesterday!), Kathy Castle (Michael Moon fighting MERSA infection in his hand), Carla Neal (Harold Heard, Jamie, Joyce & all of you)

Faith Quote: “Human life, the life of the believer, is a continuous pilgrimage, a pilgrimage of faith.” by Pope John Paul II

Through Christ our Lord,
Phil 4:13

* Prayer: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. ‘If you pray that God will move a mountain and He doesn’t, assume Christ wants you to climb it instead.’
* Fasting: Let’s fast from things that take our eyes off Jesus (selfishness, bitterness, being so critical, impatience, gossip, excessive video games, etc) and take on things that fix our eyes on Jesus (selflessness, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, patience, understanding, caring, helping, listening).
* Defend the unborn: ‘Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die’ (Prov 24:11). ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you’ (Jer 1:5). ‘It is a great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish’ (Blessed Mother Teresa).
* Evangelization: Let’s make room for unbelievers (be a friend, make a friend, lead friend to Christ) and perpetual re-evangelization of self and those near us, by way of daily prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of selfless love, mercy, and service.
Let’s joyfully invite others to join our LIFE Group…Rich or Pat will gladly add them to the devotions distribution list (Mark 16:15)!
